  • September, 1973 – Concerned citizens held meeting to define need
  • July, 1974 – request to County Commissioners for sponsorship
  • March, 1975 – Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc. was incorporated
  • September, 1975 – Wood County Senior Center opened on Wood County Fairgrounds
  • December, 1976 – City of Bowling Green purchased Post Office
  • August, 1976 – Agency purchased first van
  • January, 1977 – Nutrition program began in Bowling Green
  • March, 1977 – Rossford Area Senior Center opened
  • February, 1981 – WCCOA moved to renovated Post Office building (BG)
  • September, 1985 – Perrysburg Area Senior Center opened
  • November, 1986 – Agency passed first levy for 2/10 of one mill (by 67%)
  • March, 1989 – North Baltimore Area Senior Center opened
  • November, 1990 – Renewal levy passed (2/10 mill)
  • May, 1992 – Began serving meals in Grand Rapids
  • January, 1993 – Began Adult Day Care program
  • November, 1994 – Passed 4/10 of one mill levy by (57%)
  • May, 1995 – Began evening meals in Bowling Green, Tuesday through Thursday
  • November, 1998 – Passed 4/10 mil renewal (by 78%) levy
  • December, 1999 – Completed Accreditation for Senior Center (National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers)
  • February, 2000 – Received National Accreditation—First in Ohio (National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers)
  • May, 2001 – Opened Northeast Area Senior Center in Walbridge
  • November, 2002 – Passed 7/10 of one mill levy (by 62%)
  • February, 2006 – Received national accreditation by National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers
  • March 31, 2006 – Groundbreaking for new Production Kitchen at Wood County Complex (East Gypsy Lane Road)
  • November, 2006 – Passed 7/10 replacement of one mill levy (63.8%)
  • December 3, 2006 – New WCOA Kitchen Facility up and running
  • January, 2007 – Production Kitchen facility opened
  • April, 2008 – Pemberville Area and Wayne Area sites opened
  • May, 2011 – Received third National Accreditation by National Council on Aging/National Institute of Senior Centers
  • November, 2011 – Passed 7/10 replacement of one mill levy (69.32%)
